The Shell Gals (and Bill)

Of all the days we spent together, Sunday was my favorite. We started the day by dashing off to downtown where we (quickly) perused several shops and spent an inordinate amount of time in an olive store (yes, an actual olive store--as in kalamatas). The woman there had us taste test over 20 olive products: olive oils, tapenade, dips. We wanted to walk away, but this stuff was good.

Then we met the Shell clan in Auburn for some family photos at the park. After about an hour of primping and posing, we were finished (that's when I got some of these pics in).

Afterwards, we made a quick pitstop to pick up some wine at Trader Joe's and 6 bottles later we were back home for the family get-together.

Finally, we all sat down for a nice dinner and most of the Shell clan: 13 of us (which is a lot for micro-family girl). It was a great time with lots of interesting tid bits about the Shell men's adventures. After dinner, the stories continued... As you can see below with the Shell men engaged in some lively discussion. Reminiscing times of old. Ah, those were the good old days...

Is Ryan asleep--you can't reminisce if you're asleep!!?? It was almost like a pre-Thanksgiving dinner. We were all in roast comas (and a bit of a wine-induced stupor).

In March, mom and dad Shell will be coming to visit the Arizona Shell's (and Diaz clan) in (God-willing) our new home. I'm hoping there will be some degree of moisture in the air and that it will not be in the 90s on the sun at that time. Of course, Bill and his dad have plans to go to spring training most of the week and I can't imagine ANYTHING spoiling that experience. Spring training is spring training (even if you are on the sun).
